A Peer-reviewed Journal of Disaster Studies and Counselling Psychology
The Journal of Disaster and Human Resilience (JDHR) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Institute of Crisis Management Studies (ICMS), Samarpan Academy, Kathmandu, Nepal.
The journal provides a platform for the publication of high-quality scholarly work in the fields of disaster studies, crisis management, counselling psychology, and interdisciplinary research related to human resilience. It aims to bridge research and practice by promoting evidence-informed approaches that contribute to disaster risk reduction, mental health, community resilience, and sustainable development.
JDHR welcomes contributions from researchers, academics, practitioners, policymakers, and graduate students from Nepal and around the world. The journal encourages interdisciplinary perspectives that address contemporary challenges and support innovative solutions for individuals, communities, and institutions.
The journal is published annually during its inaugural year and will transition to biannual publication from the second year onwards. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and integrity.

The Journal of Disaster and Human Resilience aims to promote high-quality research and scholarly dialogue in disaster studies, counselling psychology, and related interdisciplinary fields. The journal seeks to strengthen evidence-based practice, support academic excellence, and contribute to policy and professional development at national and international levels.

Editorial Committee
The Editorial Committee consists of experienced academics and professionals from disaster studies, counselling psychology, and related disciplines. The committee is responsible for maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the journal by overseeing manuscript screening, reviewer selection, editorial decisions, and publication.
Reviewer Pool
JDHR maintains a pool of internal and external reviewers with expertise across the journal's subject areas. Manuscripts are assigned to reviewers based on their academic specialization. All reviews are conducted through a double-blind peer-review process.
The Journal of Disaster and Human Resilience welcomes original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration elsewhere.
