Dr. Chandra Prasad Pokhrel: Adjunct Professor, Institute of Crisis Managament Studies, Tribhuvan University. Dr. Pokhrel obtained his M.Sc. degree in Botany in 1995 and his M.A. degree in Anthropology in 1998 from Tribhuvan University. He then obtained his Ph.D. degree in Agricultural Science from Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan, in 2007. His major fields of interest are soil biology, soil organic carbon stocks, agro-biodiversity, food security, climate change, and environmental anthropology.

Dr. Pokhrel is an Associate Academic at the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). He served (2015–2018 AD) as a member of the Climate Change Council, Government of Nepal. He served as a visiting scholar at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS), Kyoto University, Kyoto, Japan (August–January 2013), and has also worked as a research assistant at the Laboratory of Forest and Forest Products Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture, Kyushu University, Kyushu, Japan (July 2003–March 2004). Dr. Pokhrel has research experience on several projects funded by national and international organizations.

He has supervised over three dozen M.Sc. students and currently supervises three PhD students. He has published over 50 research papers in national and international journals or publications. He has also published three books.
